Research summary
Research and development of next-generation rechargeable batteries Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries have long been put to practical use as power sources for small devices such as mobile phones. However, higher capacity and longer life are required for applications to battery electric vehicles. In recent years, Li-S batteries and fluoride ion batteries have been studied as candidates for next-generation rechargeable batteries. We develop the battery materials and investigate their reaction mechanism by using advanced analysis techniques (X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, etc.).
