Research summary
Formation of a Research Center for Well-being Improvement in a Super-aging Society We will collaborate with researchers in Ritsumeikan University on projects related to the prevention of frailty and sarcopenia using digital technology. Specifically, we will verify equipment using digital technology developed at the Institute for Longevity Research in a cohort of Ritsumeikan University researchers, and jointly develop hemorrhoidal equipment for the prevention of frailty and sarcopenia with other researchers at Ritsumeikan University. In collaboration with Professor Seike and in cooperation with industry, develop and implement face-to-face and virtual platforms to provide a safe gathering place for people with dementia and other difficulties in their lives in the community, as well as to train related human resources.

Message
1.	Gerontology Research Center at Ritsumeikan University for the Improvement of Well-being in a Super-aging Society Japan is leading the world in the aging of its population, and there is a growing need to conduct research and disseminate research results and proposals aimed at elucidating the pathophysiology of aging itself and resolving the various problems associated with aging. However, there are only a few institutions that conduct comprehensive research on gerontology including the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Geriatrics and Gerontology, as well as the University of Tokyo and J. F. Oberlin University. In assuming this position as a RARA fellow, I would like to establish a center for comprehensive research on gerontology. Therefore, to conduct interdisciplinary research, I plan to hold regular conferences and symposia with researchers in various research fields, including engineering, law, economics, social sciences, and pharmacology, as well as medicine, and to promote joint research with researchers inside and outside the university. We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in aging and aging-related issues.
