Research for biosynthesis of secondary metabolites derived from medicinal plants
Research summary
Elucidation of the biosynthetic mechanism of secondary metabolites derived from plants
My research aim involves the study of secondary metabolites derived from medicinal plants. I will isolate and determine the structure of characteristic secondary metabolites, elucidate their biosynthetic mechanisms, and conduct studies in synthetic biology.
Present specialized field
Bioorganic chemistry, Pharmaceutical chemistry and drug development sciences, Chemistry and chemical methodology of biomolecules, Chemical biology

Attractive world of natural products
Many natural products are used in our daily lives, and pharmaceuticals, herbal medicines, supplements, and others occupy important positions among them. The plants we are targeting, especially those known as medicinal plants, have been used as herbal medicines for a long time, and we aim to elucidate the biosynthetic mechanism of their active ingredients. Additionally, I plan to expand into the development of physiologically active substances and drug discovery research through synthetic biology."
