1.	Elucidation of the regulation mechanisms of cortical microtubule during xylem vessel cell differentiation

Research summary
Understanding the regulatory mechanisms of secondary cell wall patterning in xylem vessel cell differentiation Xylem vessels are important plant tissues that transport water and minerals and support the plant body. Secondary cell wall (SCW), which is the cell wall specific to vascular cells, is the main component of woody biomass and is expected to be a useful renewable energy source for the realization of a sustainable society. SCWs are composed mainly of cellulose and form characteristic patterns at different developmental stages along cortical microtubule-dependent manner. I aim to elucidate a new regulatory mechanism of cortical microtubule orientation in the SCW pattern formation mechanism.
