Research summary
Investigation of the pathogenesis of various gastrointestinal diseases and search for preventive and therapeutic treatment We aim to propose safe and appropriate medication therapy with few side effects against gastro-intestine. And, we will analyze the pathogenic mechanism of gastrointestinal lesions induced by various drugs used clinically for patients. Through these studies, we will also conduct research in the pathogenesis of intractable gastrointestinal diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, as well as systemic inflammatory diseases. The occurrence of cancer accompanying inflammation, and fibrosis accompanying chronic inflammation are recognized not only in the digestive tract but also in many organs and tissues. To identify the pathogenesis and prophylactic / therapeutic targets in the gastrointestinal tract can be expected to lead to overcoming diseases of other organs and tissues.
